Lorikeets in my Garden

I have Lorikeets in my garden and I love them.

They visit very late afternoon...

They squawk and jostle... they are noisy!

They remind me of when I was a teenager and our family visited the Currumbin Bird Sanctuary in Queensland - you could hold out trays of food and the Lorikeets would land all over your arms and head - it was fabulous!

In our garden, if there's no seed out, they squawk a bit and carry on.... and then move on to greener pastures...

But if there's seed, they tell all their friends and have a party! They jiggle, they jump from the table to the tree... and back!

Jenny I too love these cheeky birds, and miss them now we have moved south. They just loved the nectar out of the native flowers in our old yard and would get "drunk" on it often. Your lovely picture brought a smile to my face, thank you.

Gorgeous photo, Jenny. I think they come to me when there's no food at your 'restaurant'! :)
