Over at Just Add Ink, my favourite challenge blog,
there's a fabulous new challenge each week.

This week it's...

I love the black and vanilla papers from Stampin' Up!'s paper... Modern Medley.

And the words... just because... come from the stamp set, A Dozen Thoughts.

And a peek into the inside:

I've used Crushed Curry cardstock and ribbon - love that colour!

Tangerine Tango

I added some Lace Tape, a button from the In Colour Boutique Details, and then finished off with some Candy Dots!

Here's a close up of the button:

Zoo Babies and a Stripe Challenge

Zoo Babies Stamp Set

Lots of fun this week...

This is a ZOO BABIES card!

There's a challenge over at Just Add Ink  - make a card with STRIPES!

I wanted to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) a pretty card I'd seen on Pinterest made by the very talented Sue Wdowik - you can see her gorgeous card here.

I started with some paper with LOTS of STRIPES;

Then I got out my new Fringe Scissors to make some grass... (all hippos need grass)

Grass made from Fringe Scissors

and I added a cute birthday greeting:

and voila, my card was done - I love the upside down monkey!

Zoo Babies all piled up!
And the inside too of course - more stripes!

I'm loving the Just Add Ink challenges - a fabulous way to get that creativity happening!

Flower Shop Card in a Box

I've had some FUN!

I decided that to increase my creativity... and to challenge myself...

I would try the Just Add Ink challenge this week!

And this is what I made:

Flower Shop Card in a Box

It's the new Card in a Box that is sweeping the internet world!

Here is a pic of the Just Add Ink challenge - some pretty colours to choose from:

 Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
and for the green I used Wild Wasabi.

I have a special friend who was turning 50 so I designed my card just for her...

Here's some more pics:

To make the Card in a Box, I followed a video which has been made by a fellow-Australian,
Tanya Bell.   If you want to make one too, just pop over to her blog!

After I made the card I wanted to make a pretty envelope to pop it into - and of course I used the Envelope Punch Board by Stampin' Up!

The Card in a Box folds flat for posting!

Very easy to fold up!

And here is the finished product - my Card in a Box using
Flower Shop Stamp Set and matching envelope.

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my little bunch of flowers...
I can tell you that the recipient did get a lovely surprise when she opened up this card!

Tri-Shutter Card - AW02 - Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenge

I'm excited to share today - I've been getting creative!

I've made a Tri-Shutter Card!

It all started with this lovely new challenge site

This month the challenge is a Colour Challenge - here are the details:

As you can see, the challenge is to make a card using some fabulous colours:

 Always Artichoke,

Pear Pizzazz,

Melon Mambo and

Daffodil Delight.

I love these colours together!

It was fun working out the measurements, cutting and folding,
and then adding some pretty embossed pieces,
and some butterflies and bling.

Here is a view from the right hand side...

And the whole card front on...

This was FUN, FUN, FUN to make!

And, if you would like to see what other crafters have made using Stampin' Up!

My Green Lawn

My pretty, green lawn...

 This is my back yard.

I love my luscious, green lawn.

I love my pretty flowers.

I love the Spring Smell - that mixture of grass and blossom!

Getting what you really want is hard work.

I've been outside mulching,

mowing,

 trimming,

and pulling out weeds.

During the drought  -  the long, long Melbourne drought, this garden was a wasteland...

Dead trees, bushes,

Dead grass,

Bare dirt.

I wondered if it would ever be green again...

And then the drought broke and I wrote down some 'action' steps...

Plant

Water

Feed

Trim

Mulch

Mow

Repeat!

What 'project' are you working on?

What 'action steps' do you have in place?

Today's Treasured Moment:  Breakfast outside in the warm spring sunshine!
Where do you eat breakfast?

Saturday 21 September 2013

Want a cake? Try a Lamington!

Do you like cake?  I love cake.

And coffee?  I love coffee!

And the combination of the two... PERFECT!

Here's a lovely LAMINGTON cake - with cream!  OMG delicious!

It was in a cute little homewares store called...

'Bed Bath & Table - The Works'

They have about an acre of fabulous goodies to look at (seriously)

and the coffee and cake shop upstairs!

Today's Treasured Moment:  I just went down to the shops to post off some cards
to lovely friends and as soon as I opened the car door
I could smell.... a sausage sizzle!  Yum!
Posted my cards, bought the sausages in bread with onions
and came home to eat them with Gordon on the front decking!
Delicious!
