Sweet Magnolia...

Well the bees were in an absolute frenzy this morning - the Magnolia Little Gem is flowering - I picked a bloom yesterday to bring inside and I was amazed at the scent - sweet and citrusy (is that a word?) - and very strong.

Well today the bees have caught onto the fact and they are smothering themselves in the pollen - as the flower opens the little pieces holding the pollen fall off - but they land on the huge open petals... and then the bee rummages all through the pollen parts - it was hard to take a picture but I caught one bee here...
